Serio goes to Mexico wrapping up his 2012 world tour
Serio will be wrapping up his 2012 world tour this year in Mexico. This will be the first time ever that Serio will be performing live in so many cities in Mexico. Although Serio has performed before in Mexico, this is his first actual tour inside the country. A few cities Serio will be performing in next week include: Guadalajara, Puerto Vallarta, and Acapulco. The first stop on his tour marks Serio’s return to Guadalajara, having recently performed there in March of 2012. In addition to his family roots being in Guadalajara, it is also the cultural center of Mexico, considered by most to be the home of Mariachi music and host to a number of large-scale cultural events in the capital city of the Mexican state of Jalisco. Guadalajara is the hometown of Serio favorite soccer team The Chivas. The Chivas play in Jalisco Stadium, the third largest Mexican soccer stadium with a maximum capacity of 63,200 spectators! Also a place of historical and religious significance, Jalisco Stadium hosted the beatification of 14-year-old, Jose Luis Sanchez Del Rio (and many others) in 2005 for their roles in the infamous Cristero War of 1927. These heroes played a vital role in the survival of the Catholic church after a tyrannical government attempted to destroy its existence by attacking, torturing, and murdering its leaders and parishioners. Mexico is full of history, culture and is also one of the top tourist destinations for people all over the world! Serio is looking forward to his upcoming tour of Mexico. Keep checking the website for additional cities so you won’t miss out on the next Serio concert in your city!
