Serio retires from Chicano rap

It has been some time in the making that Serio would eventually retire from Chicano rap and move on to do something new in his career. The main reason for this is that he has big ambitions and much higher goals in life than to be merely a rap artist. To quote directly what he said in an interview, “No one sets the bar as high as I do. Rap is merely a stepping stone in my life. There are many things that I would like to do, like pursue an acting career and put out several clothing lines. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens. I really don’t know what the future holds. Only God does.” In 2010, Serio released his first single, “Serio Come Back” from his up-and-coming 3rd album, “Gansterism Part 3”; which was released in the fall of 2011. The song was made on the topic of his retirement from the rap game. Not only the success that he achieved in it, but also how he had become frustrated with the entire rap music industry. It also spoke of some of the things that he wanted to pursue in his future. While still making the third album he still had some unreleased songs and topics he wanted to rap about before his retirement. So he decided that he would have one final album and one final world tour in 2013. After that, he decided he would let people know. In his words from a different interview, Serio stated, “It was fun while it lasted but now it is time for me to move on and do something new. Thank you for the love and support and may God bless each and every one of you.”
